As CEO, Mark is responsible for overseeing the development of PMP’s human resources and labor relations initiatives. With his vast experience in these areas Mark is able to provide guidance and leadership to PMP’s team of experts that ensure PMP’s continued success in providing excellent service to its clients. PMP’s clients have come to rely on our team approach, and our unique combination of expert consultants that have been able to provide timely, practical and effective advice and assistance.
Mark has been a labor relations and human resources consultant with the firm since 1975. He has over 30 years experience representing companies in all aspects of labor relations, including union elections and representation hearings, grievance meetings, and arbitration hearings and has acted as the chief spokesperson in hundreds of collective bargaining negotiations. Mark has worked with various industries in the public and private sector; among them are transportation, defense, communications, retail, municipalities, publishing, manufacturing and service industries throughout the United States and on special assignments overseas. Mark has negotiated with all of the major and many of the smaller unions throughout the country including the UAW, SEIU, Teamsters, IAM, CWA, UNITE and many others.
Additionally, Mark continues to participate in nearly all aspects of PMP’s services including training, representation at federal, state and local agencies as well as providing daily counseling both on and off site, on a wide variety of human resources related topics.
Mark earned his B.A. from the University of Rochester in New York and PhD at the University of Calgary.
Grace, Executive Vice President of PMP, has been with the firm since 1993. She holds a degree in Human Resources/Labor Relations from the State University of New York and has also taken courses at Cornell University.
Ms. Conti is perhaps best known for her expertise in Affirmative Action rules and regulations. Grace works closely with clients in developing affirmative action plans, as well as preparing for difficult affirmative action audits. Often called the "Affirmative Action guru" by her clients, she is proud of her exceptional record of successful OFCCP audits. Her thorough knowledge and experience of the intricacies of Affirmative Action regulations has made her a nationally recognized Affirmative Action specialist. Her clients come from a variety of industries including aerospace and/or aviation, communications, manufacturing and various service industries.
Grace guides and assists clients in complying with federal and state regulations affecting employers. She trains supervisors in all aspects of employer/employee issues, and Grace works with companies that need to establish, restructure or out-source human resources functions. Ms Conti’s background, experience and collaborative style helps clients develop a solid HR infrastructure to diminish exposure to litigation, reduce turnover and improve the company’s bottom line.
In 2008, Grace was a recipient of the Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women’s prestigious Achievers’ Award. She represents PMP at various business and community events including those sponsored by the HIA and IMA as well as at the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).
Barbara DeMatteo is an accomplished professional whose Human Resources experience spans over 35 years. In supporting businesses in varied industries across the United States, Barbara continually develops her knowledge of federal and state employment regulations, strengths in employee relations, interviewing, training as well as coaching supervisors and managers.
Barbara acts in the capacity of a company's outsourced HR function in providing guidance on the most effective way to handle employee situations and limit liability. Writing and revising employee handbooks, developing meaningful and targeted job descriptions, developing and implementing performance management programs, and nurturing HR professionals through on site mentoring are her strengths.
This comprehensive experience adds credibility to the training programs she develops and delivers to supervisors and managers and allows her to connect with trainees in a realistic and impactful way. Her mission is to develop ‘Managers of Process’ into more valuable ‘Managers of People’.
Barbara’s training and professional certifications include a professional designation from the American Compensation Association. She is a certified DiSC® trainer and she serves on a number of community organization committees.
Rita DiStefano joined PMP in 2005 after working for a large global company for over 20 years overseeing HR for their Nassau and Suffolk County locations. During her tenure, she gained expertise in the field of recruitment, training, benefits, employee relations, performance management and compensation.
At PMP, Rita currently offers clients her expertise in HR Consulting including services such as policy development, interactive management training, job descriptions, compensation analysis; she provides guidance on employee handbooks, developing and implementing performance management programs, employee relations, recruiting, discipline and termination. Where no HR department exists, Rita provides on-site HR services or augments clients' HR department with either on-site or off-site support.
Rita is past Chair of the Board of Directors of the HIA-LI, now serving as a member of the Executive Committee and liaison to the Young Business Professionals Committee of that organization. She has served as Chair of the Suffolk County Workforce Investment Board for the Department of Labor after receiving an appointment for that position from Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy. She also served as Chair of the C.W. Post Employee Advisory Board. Currently Rita is Co-Chair of the LI STEM Hub’s Regional Industry Council for Advanced Manufacturing.
Rita was honored by the Long Island Works Coalition for her vision and dedication to the collaboration of business and education, and received State recognition for her work with internship programs. She was honored by the HIA-LI at a gala as one of “Those Who Make A Difference” and was honored by LIBN as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business on Long Island.
Maureen Bradley's primary focus at PMP is assisting clients in the development and maintenance of Affirmative Action Plans and analyses of their data including compensation. She analyzes all personnel data when updating plans or before submission to Department of Labor OFCCP compliance evaluations. Maureen also serves as the FMLA Administrator for clients who outsource their FMLA administration to PMP. She graduated from Molloy College with a degree in Mathematics & Computer Science.
Mary Simmons is a Strategic Human Resource Professional and earned her PHR certification in 2012. For over 25 years, she has proactively partnered with all levels of management to attain positive business results as well as solid, progressive HR policies and procedures. Mary brings a strong foundation in HR fundamentals, personalized Talent Acquisition, creating results oriented training and employee relations. Mary was a Trainer and HR Generalist for a large retailer and then joined a major financial institution for 16 years as a HR Generalist and Senior Recruiter. Mary has also worked for a global provider of outplacement as a Career Counselor and Employment/ Business Liaison.
Mary graduated from University of Delaware with a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources. She is currently a contributing author for GEM magazine, ‘Time to Play’ website, and ‘iworkwell’ website. She is also Co-chair of the SHRM Planning Committee, a Board Member of the Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum, a member of the Long Island HR Networking Group, and winner of 2017 Long Island Business News Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business award.
Dana Genova has recently joined the staff of Portnoy, Messinger, Pearl & Associates as an HR Consultant. She graduated from SUNY Farmingdale with a degree in Business Management and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Human Resources Management at Stony Brook University. Prior to joining PMP Dana worked as a Recruiter where she had the opportunity to develop relationships with HR professionals and hiring managers in various industries. Her interest in the HR field and her passion for offering guidance and support to clients made PMP a perfect fit.
At PMP Dana assists federal contractors with developing and implementing comprehensive OFCCP compliant Affirmative Action plans through conducting in-depth employee data analysis. Additionally, Dana helps contractors with their EEO-1 and Vets-100A reporting. Dana also offers support in the areas of recruitment, development of job descriptions and the creation and updating of employee handbooks.

Kristyn M. Lang is a Human Resources Specialist who supports clients in areas including Affirmative Action, Talent Acquisition, and Coaching. She is recognized as a fast learner and hands on professional who is detail oriented and committed to the needs of her clients. Kristyn is focused on completing projects on time and adhering to company specifications and state and federal employment laws and regulations.
As an Affirmative Action Consultant, Kristyn successfully assists federal contractors with the development, maintenance, and analysis of their Affirmative Action Plans (AAP). She also provides training and ongoing support throughout the year to ensure compliance with OFCCP regulations in order to successfully pass audits.
In the field of Talent Acquisition, Kristyn partners with HR departments and company managers to facilitate the full cycle recruitment process from job ad to hire. Her recruitment process is tailored to the specific needs of each organization in order to obtain the best results possible.
Kristyn is extremely passionate about Coaching as it is statistically proven to not only benefit the employee but the company as a whole. Some areas that Kristyn can assist with as a Coach are, time management, leadership skills, improved communication, and employee engagement. Christine has extensive business operational experience having been the Pratice Administrator for the law firm SilvermanAcampora LLP. She was directly responsible for Human Resources Management, Benefits Planning, Regulatory Compliance, Policy Development, and shared responsibility with the partners for Strategic Planning and Practice Management. She also managed the day-to-day operations of the firm, supervising staff and advising the partners, attorneys and other staff members in the areas of harassment and discrimination, personnel policies, compliance with labor laws, and EEOC guidelines.
In her spare time, Christine is actively involved with a number of community programs, including the Long Island Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF-LI). She is also a Board Member for Habitat For Humanity in Nassau County New York, Inc.
